How can I break up with my girlfriend without her hurting herself?

I've broken up with my girlfriend a number of times, both in person and via text message. Then she cries and begs me not to do it and I give in. Mostly I'm afraid that she's going to do something totally irrational, maybe hurt herself. What should I do?How can I break up with my girlfriend without her hurting herself?
That's really tough, but if you don't like her, then you need to be a man and tell her the truth. Talk to her in person and explain why you want to break up. Be very gentle and plan what you are going to say. You shouldn't give into her if she begs you to stay with her. I don't know her, so I don't know if she'll hurt herself, but any girl that physically harms herself because her boyfriend breaks up with her needs professional help. No joke, that's not supposed to be funny. She should talk to a counciler or something.
